Important Dates

Here are a couple of reminders for upcoming dates:

Friday May 11th - No practice, High School conference meet at BC track.
Monday May 14th - Girls conference meet at Grand Haven High School.  (No practice for boys!)
Tuesday May 15th - Boys practice, normal times. (No practice for girls!)
Wednesday May 16th - Boys conference meet at Grandville High School.(No practice for girls!)
Thursday May 17th - End of season celebration, coaches will provide pizza and pop, students should bring money for ice-cream at Houseman's!  We will finish up at our normal time 4:30pm. 

It has been a great season, hard to believe it is coming to an end so soon!

Pinewood Meet Results

Below are the results of our Pinewood meet yesterday.  Another great meet with many of our student athletes improving on times and placing in their races!  Everybody did a great job, the coaches are proud of all the work that is put in to get the results at the meet!

The boys field events did an awesome job yesterday, they received 29 of a possible 30 points on their events!  Great job guys!

We wanted to pass along a couple of important pieces of information to you all in regards to our meet next Tuesday against Pinewood @ East Kentwood High School.

**Important** - Athletes MUST have a transportation release form turned into the middle school office at least 1 day prior to the meet!

Great Night.....Long Night!!

Well let me start by saying that was a fantastic night for both our guys and girls teams!!  Everyone did a great job and really handled our first meet so well!  Here are the final results from the night:

Girls Team:
Byron Center 89.5 - Valleywood 38.5
Crestwood 77 - Byron Center 50

Guys Team:
Byron Center 106 - Valleywood 22
Byron Center 82 - Crestwood 46

We do want to take a minute to exaplin the late finish and arrival back at WMS.  The first meet of the year tends to go longer as there are many new athletes and in this case a new timing system at EK.  Also this was a "tri meet" which means we had three teams at this meet.  Our meets the rest of the year (other than the conference meet) will only have two teams at them, which means we will normally finish up around 6 or 6:15pm!  We just wanted to make sure you all know this was a very abnormal meet and arrival time for middle school track!  :)

We are so proud of our athletes and how they handled this meet, we were out on the track for over 4 hours, in not the nicest conditions, but all of our BC athletes handled things very well!  All of the coaches are so proud of our athletes!

BCWMS Track Meet Schedule for 2012

No Track Practice Today!

Due to teacher meetings, there will not be track practice today March 26th. 

Track is Canceled Today!

Due to the weather today March 23, track practice will be canceled!  Students will be heading home after school!

Late Bus Shuttle

If your student participates in an after school class they will need to ride bus #37 over to Nickels. This bus will pick up at 3:15 in front of the middle school and transfer track athletes to Nickels. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!

Important Information!!

Below is important information for the upcoming track season!  Athletes will be getting hard copies of these documents at the frist practice.

On Your Marks....Get Set....GO!

Hard to believe, but it is that time already!  Track will start on Tuesday March 20th!  Here are a couple of things that you need to know before that day:

• Pay to Participate is due prior to practice starting on the 20th!  The fee is $50 (unless you have hit your $300 family limit!).  **Checks can be made out to BCPS.**
• A physical must be on file in order to participate.  If you have played a sport already this school year you should be set.
• An informational packet will be given out at the first day of practice (we will post that information here as well).
• Practice will be held at the track from 3:00 - 4:30 pm.
• We will be giving out an order form for clothing and uniforms on Tuesday March 20.
